Dear Cottage community,

I am excited to finally announce the time and location of our hearing with the City of Pasadena! 

As you may remember, Cottage has applied for an amendment to our longstanding Conditional Use Permit, in its current format since 1985, to allow us to use our house past 1:30 in the afternoon, including some evenings (similar to what we have now, but until 9 pm instead of 8). Our plan addresses our neighborhood’s biggest concerns about our presence, as well as creates opportunity for the Cottage way to reach more families in the future, and provide greater flexibility for our current members. Our ability to operate at the capacity that suits demand for our services is important to our viability as a nonprofit. We have got to do everything we can to pull together and show the City how much we benefit Pasadena with the work we do. 

 Starting from the six years my children attended, Cottage has been at the center of our lives. We made such good friends, and had so much incredible support, in the form of knowledgeable teachers, inspiring fellow parents, and life-changing parent education talks. I know that I would not be the parent I am today without this school. And I know, from the long-standing friendships and profoundly respectful parenting I see from you all, that you feel the same way. Please, be there to ensure we can keep opening this opportunity to more families for generations to come.
