We found a dead bird in the yard Monday morning.

We saved it, in case kids wanted to see. It was intact, and tiny. They instantly started creating ornamentation and ceremony around it.

We talked together about what we knew about the bird and its life, read a book about children finding a dead bird.

Finally, we buried it, with treasures, and talked about the tombs of Pharaohs.
